Got a phone call a bit ago from a different number saying it was the "VISA and Mastercard department of my bank about a £600 transaction on my card 15 minutes ago to a foreign country. If I wanted to cancel it, I should press 1." From what I know, banks usually block any dodgy payments first and then ring you to confirm if it’s legit. If you say yes, then you can retry the payment and it gets processed. Seems fishy to me.

It’s really annoying and stressful, especially after she’d just come back from having an endoscopy at the hospital this morning! They said their name was Wilson Tarquin and the bloke on the phone was Gene Adams. Proper nuisance and just trying to scam money out of you!

Ended up picking up this number today after loads of calls, including twice just yesterday. It was hard to catch who was speaking but when I asked for their name, it sounded like ? & Wilson. These ppi callers just dont quit even when you say no thanks. You cant block em properly cause they use some thing that changes the last one or two digits of their number each time they ring. So it still shows almost the same number but not quite, making it really annoying. Its proper harassment and id love to know if theres any legal way to make em stop for good.
