A caller purporting to be from Bupa reached out, insisting they required details regarding a patient. However, prior to any discussion, they insisted on obtaining my complete name and my role within my organisation. Having been in this line of work for over a decade, I found it rather peculiar, as such a request has never come my way before. The lady on the other end remained quite obstinate, merely reciting bits about GDPR to me. When I questioned how I could verify her identity, her reply was simply, “You can’t.” Quite the unusual situation, wouldn’t you agree?

I reckon it was an Irish chap on the line, claiming to be from the Cardiology department at BUPA. He inquired about someone and then asked if I was a particular individual. When I responded in the negative, he swiftly apologised and ended the call. Seems to me like it could have been a dodgy or fraudulent call!

I often receive calls from the number 0161 497 9981, particularly while I'm in the midst of texting or emailing my ex. They either cut the call straight away or linger on the line before disconnecting. Whenever I try to return the call, I am met with a blocked tone. Oddly enough, my phone also warms up during these moments—strange, I know, but it's happening for real!
