got a call supposedly from talktalk security, and the way they answered almost instantly made me wary. recently, i've had a few calls like this where the person just went on and on without really explaining why they were ringing, and honestly seemed less clued up about the internet than me - and that’s saying something! now, i just tell them to send me an email instead. i’ve never actually got any email from them, and one even tried to get me to do stuff on my laptop, which made me think they’re just trying to sneak into my system.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from the TalkTalk security team. I didn’t engage much with them since I’ve recently had a couple of dodgy calls where the person on the line waffled endlessly. One eventually requested I perform some tasks on my laptop, which I obviously turned down flat. I've told each of them to drop me an email instead, but since I’ve heard nothing back, it leads me to believe they are nothing more than scammers looking to get into my computer.
