I just ended the call and then another random number got BLOCKED!!!2 yearsWhen I didn’t pick up, their call was picked up by my voicemail straight away. They didn’t leave any message though, which makes me think it’s one of those call scanners. So I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.2 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, said my internet wasn’t working right. They wanted to send an engineer over to check my router. Bit fishy if you ask me.Virgin Media2 yearsI had a rather peculiar call from this number earlier today, claiming there was an issue with my computer. The caller insisted I power it up. Naturally, I declined, stating my husband was currently making use of it. At that point, he abruptly hung up. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!2 yearsWhy don’t you get off your backside and find yourself an actual job instead?2 yearsI've just had a rather concerning call claiming that my bank account has been hit with two suspicious transactions today. One was for £300 from Amazon, and the other a hefty £1200 from an unfamiliar source. They instructed me to press 1 to annul the charges or 2 if I wanted to chat with an adviser.Amazon2 yearsNo sound at all when they called. Blocked them straight away.2 yearsGot an automated call claiming to be from my bank’s security team, but never mentioned which bank. Sounded just like another scam I saw about some Amazon payment and transfer. I’ve had these before so I didn’t bother, just hung up straight away.Amazon2 yearsGot a call from 01614834938 but there was nothing on the other end, just silence. Seems dodgy, might be one of those scams.2 yearsGot a robo call claiming to be from my bank’s security team, didn’t even mention which bank, telling me there was dodgy activity on my account. Said Amazon had taken £300 and a £1000 overseas transfer had gone through, and to press 1 to speak with someone about it. They also said my card hadn’t been used with these places before, which is rubbish since I always buy from Amazon. I quickly logged into my online banking and saw nothing suspicious, but I pretty much knew it was a scam anyway. Just ignored them and let the call drop after a bit.Amazon2 yearsGot a call with a recorded voice thanking me for purchasing train tickets, which I definitely never did. Ended the call straight away!2 yearsTwice in just a couple of days, I got calls from this scam, all about some supposed telephone refund. When I told the caller to buzz off and scam someone else, they actually swore at me! Proper cheeky and rude!2 yearsSo this bloke called my 97-year-old grandad saying his BT internet was being used in some dodgy way. I look after him, and I knew straight away it was a con because he’s actually on Virgin Media! I just let the message keep going on for ages to mess with their time.Virgin Media2 yearsGot a call from a bloke with a London/South East accent saying my BT internet was involved in some dodgy business and that it was an offence on my part. He asked me to hit '1' to chat with a BT rep. But I don’t even have BT, so it was pretty clear it was a scam trying to catch me out.LondonSouth EastBT2 yearsI received a message claiming that my Amazon account required renewal, and it provided a number for me to ring up.Amazon2 yearsReceived a message claiming that my Amazon account required a renewal.Amazon2 yearsGot a call the other day from a woman with an Asian accent, then today it was a man, also sounding Asian. They said they were from Virgin Media, claiming some 6 extra devices were freeloading off my internet. They tried to get me to open AnyDesk, so I just kept them chatting for a good 15 minutes, pretending like I was following along. Suddenly my screen went black, made me think they’d really got control. Figured I’d just waste their time - no way I was falling for that. Proper scammers, no doubt.Virgin MediaAnyDesk2 yearsCompletely devoid of any personal touch. It was evidently an automated call masquerading as some generic ‘bank’ security number, warning of supposed dodgy transactions on my card. They provided some rather precise instances to make it sound credible, which is quite the cheeky tactic! The options were either to cancel my card by pressing a certain button - of which I’m now unsure - or to ring them back. It’s blatantly a SCAM! When there's any questionable activity on my card, my actual bank reaches out to me directly and verifies my identity before supplying any details.2 yearsI can hardly believe the audacity of this number! It has reached out to my poor elderly mother four times, bombarding her with calls and accusing her of being impolite for not picking up the phone. They claim they're there to assist her, but really, it’s just harassment! It was heartbreaking to see her in tears. I've advised her to ignore any further calls as this is clearly a scam. It’s truly despicable behaviour!2 yearsGot a call from 0161 483 4938 and honestly, couldn’t understand a word they were saying. Totally rubbish, probably a scam or something. The connection was terrible, so it was hard to catch everything she said. When I mentioned I’d ask a tech guy I know for help, she replied saying that wouldn’t make any difference and the licence would still be cancelled. I don’t even have Microsoft on my PC anymore, it’s been wiped off ages ago, which made the whole thing feel really odd. Honestly, it just left me a bit baffled and I ended up hanging up.Microsoft2 yearsI didn’t pick up and as soon as they realised it was just my answerphone, they ended the call straight away.2 yearsGot a call pretending to be from my bank, total scam.
