10th September 2018: Received a call from this number for the first time today. The moment I detected an Indian or Pakistani accent and just heard "BT" without my name being mentioned, I knew it was a scam and promptly hung up - clearly, it wasn’t British Telecom. They never reach out unless you’ve previously requested a callback. A mate of mine had a similar experience with a so-called "BT" call recently, where they insisted there was an issue with her broadband while she was using her computer without a hitch at all; all from another dodgy number out of Manchester.
