If I do hear the message, I listen quickly to check if it's someone I want to speak with, and if it is, I jump in right away. Otherwise, I just end the call straight away. These days, it feels like the messages are getting through fine, and I barely get any dodgy or telemarketing calls anymore.

Got a text saying to ring back with a reference number or check their site. No idea who these lot are, but the ref and my birthday weren't anywhere to be found, so it’s obvious it’s not for me.

Basically, just ignore them and let the phone win against these muppets.
