Somebody rang me saying they were from HM Revenue and Customs and accused me of fraud. They said if I didn’t press 1, they'd send the police to arrest me. That’s not true at all - HMRC don’t operate like that. They might get the police involved for investigations, but they don’t threaten arrest like that on a phone call. Definitely don’t press 1, it’s a con and might end up charging you a lot because it links to a premium number. Avoid it completely!
