I got a call from this number out of the blue. A woman with a strong Indian accent claimed our internet connection had been hacked recently and started asking me loads of questions. I told her I was just jotting down her number and looking it up online to see if it was linked to any scams. While I checked, she kept chatting to other people in what sounded like Hindi or a similar language, with quite a lot of noise like a bunch of folks talking in the background. Don’t let these people fool you - stay wary and make sure you report any dodgy calls like this!

These scam calls from some Indigenous folks are just ridiculous. Problem is, most people don't even bother telling the cops about them. On the Action Fraud site, there's a bit where you can report phishing calls by texting the details to 7726. Sometimes they'll ask you to send the info again just to be sure.
