Got a call from some guy called Chris claiming to be my local energy advisor, but he was actually ringing from Manchester all the way to the West Midlands. He asked if I'd already "benefitted" from the government scheme for my house. When I mentioned I was just renting, he cut me off straight away. Shame really, I was hoping for a good natter on my rarely used landline.

Today I got a call from someone named Chris claiming to be the energy advisor for my area. He wanted to talk about loft insulation. I asked him straight up if he was just a salesman for loft insulation, and he just hung up on me after that.

Got a bloke on the phone who said he was Chris from some energy advice scheme for our postcode. When I asked for more info, he just replied with, “Alright, so we’ve got the right details then.” Felt a bit dodgy, so I hung up and blocked the number straight away. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Today, I got quite a few calls and already asked them to stop ringing me, but they just keep on calling anyway. It's like they're completely ignoring my request.

This number rang me like three times in less than an hour. I couldn't pick up at first, but on the fourth ring I finally answered. Some lady with an Asian accent started talking, but I cut her off, thinking she’d realise I was tied up since I’d not answered earlier. She kept on chatting regardless, so I just told her I was busy and ended the call. Fingers crossed they got the hint.

Some bloke with a foreign accent called me, talking super quick and seemed to know my name. He said his name was Brian and he was calling from something called British Nation. He wanted to ask me a couple of questions and promised he wouldn’t ring again after that. I asked him what British Nation even is, and he got all nervy and kept saying he was Brian from there. When I told him I hadn’t heard of any company called British Nation, he asked how I knew that. I think I threw him off ’cause he ended up just hanging up before asking me anything.

At the end, he asked for my exact age but I didn’t give it to him. Then he went on to say my address and wanted me to confirm if I still lived there - I didn’t. When I told him I still wasn’t sure where he was calling from because he spoke too fast and I couldn’t catch it, he just hung up. Feels like they already had some info about me and were trying to gather more.

Today, I got a rather dodgy automated call from this number, claiming to be from Amazon. They informed me that my Amazon Prime subscription was on the verge of expiry and suggested that I could instantly renew it by pressing a certain digit to speak to someone. It’s clearly a scam, and I can assure you that this number has nothing to do with Amazon whatsoever.

Like always, this looks like a spoofed number. They probably take a bunch of old phone numbers or ones that don’t pick up incoming calls, and then they pretend to be those numbers on their system. So when you try ringing back, you just get no answer or no number found, cos the number isn’t real or active anymore.
