Got constant calls from a company named UK Debt Expert or Debt Advice Expert claiming they’re from StepChange Debt Charity, or that they work alongside them. They’re definitely not connected with StepChange. Two people called me, one called Jordan and another called Chantelle, both pretty pushy. They’re falsely claiming to be linked with StepChange and trying to get folks to sign up for IVAs, which is a bit dodgy. Don’t be fooled - the genuine StepChange would never call you out of the blue or ring after you submit an online form. Never share your details with them, ask exactly where they’re calling from, then block their number and report them to Action Fraud.

Loads of numbers I don’t recognise say they’ve left messages for me, but it’s usually a waste. I find myself blocking almost all of them after a while.
