Greeted with utter quiet after my hello: they've been blocked now.

Initially, the caller introduced themselves as being from the SSC, but by the time we wrapped up our chat, they had switched to being from Northumbrian Electricity. What's more, they had my name, address, email, and even my current electricity provider-all at their fingertips. The chap was thoroughly pleasant and informed me that he could bring my monthly payments down from more than £100 to something below £70. Quite an intriguing conversation, to say the least!

A chap rang me claiming to represent British Gas, asserting that energy costs were rising starting today. He urged me to adjust my tariff, but I declined. He then became quite irate, threatening that my bill would spike immediately. He had a distinct Nigerian accent. I ended the call promptly.
