Got a very pushy lady on the phone the other day, wanted to talk to the owner of the business, but I’m the one who handles business rates here. I tried asking her a few things and she kept saying we’re paying too much because of Covid-19, but couldn’t really explain properly. When I asked how much they charge, she said it’s ‘negotiable’ but can be as high as 45%! I laughed and said if it’s negotiable then it sounds like you just charge whatever you fancy. Honestly, my advice? Just end the call and don’t bother!

I rang up and requested to speak to the owner of the business, but since I didn’t know their name, they didn’t connect me through.

Some woman rang up real pushy asking for the business owner by their name. She claimed we’d paid too much on our bills or something. I told her we don’t even pay rates and she started getting all argumentative. I ended the call. Right after, she rang back before I could block her. I cut her off again. Then she called once more from a hidden number. Had to end it again. Honestly, just leave us alone!
