When I picked up the phone, the caller promptly disconnected. So, I thought I’d ring them back. Turns out they identified themselves as "RVA Surveyors." They asserted they were reaching out to small enterprises about considerable reductions in their business rates.

RVA Surveyors ring up every single day. They say they can lower your business rates but when I asked how much they charge, it was ridiculously high for what they actually do. If you want a laugh, give it a go yourself. Just a heads up, be careful who you deal with. If business rates bug you, better to find a local surveyor who can handle the forms properly. Buyer beware!

I've been getting calls every day from this Manchester Boiler Room RV8 number, twice daily actually. They always leave a voicemail but never seem to be sure who they're trying to reach. They were asking to talk to the "business owner or the person who owns the property," which makes no sense since they obviously don’t have the right contact. Total scam vibes.

Had some bloke on the phone who sounded all high and mighty but never actually said why he was ringing. You could hear people having a laugh and a party behind him. When i asked him to remove me from his mailing list, he got really narked like a kid throwing a tantrum. Proper annoying.

got a call from some nice sounding person from rva surveyors, they said they could help lower my business rates. ive been burned before tho, had a surveyor take about 700 quid upfront and in the end, nothing changed with my rates. so i usually ignore these cold calls now. i stick to local firms and only if someone i trust - like my accountant or solicitor - recommends them. feels safer that way.

I got a call about business rates and wasn’t quite sure if it was a scam or not, so I just played it safe and didn’t share anything.

had a few calls from these so-called negotiators trying to help small businesses cut down their business rates. they wanted me to pay an upfront fee plus keep paying for some ongoing "monitoring" service. in the end, they didn't actually manage to lower my rates like they said they would. proper waste of time.
