Got a call from someone claiming to be Sam at O2, saying I was eligible for a 40% discount on my bill. I was pretty sure it was just another dodgy scam.

The person on the other end was fairly courteous but spoke at such a rapid pace it was hard to catch what they were saying, only managed to hear bits like 'phone' and 'contract'. I hardly ever got any nuisance calls while with Virgin, but since switching to O2 after their merger, I’m worried these calls might become more frequent. Feels like my info might have been handed over to marketers. In the end, he hung up when he saw I wasn’t interested. The number’s now blocked from my phone.

Got a call from someone who sounded Indian and said they worked for O2, but they couldn’t even say the name right. They were trying to get me to switch my contract to a cheaper deal but with the same stuff. Thing is, I’ve never had O2, so I knew straight away it was a dodgy call.

They said they were EON, claiming to be our energy supplier. But honestly, they’re not connected to us at all. The whole thing felt really dodgy, and their tone was straight up scammy if you ask me.

I've been getting loads of calls from Virgin Media saying they're offering new deals or warning about price hikes even though I've never been a customer nor interested in their services. Total cold calls trying to snag me for some contract or another.

got a call from someone wanting to talk to the business owner, sounded like they were reading straight off a script which i quickly cut them off. they said they were from two different companies, one was eon next, seemed really fishy. told them to ring back another time but they never did. when i tried calling the number, it had a weird international tone. i’ve since blocked the number.
