First thing in the morning at about 8:30, I got a call from someone saying they were from the "Accident Investigation Office". After that typical few seconds pause you get with call centres, a bloke called Mark said something about a vehicle enquiry. I've no car, so I quickly let him know it's a scam and I was putting them straight on the TPS list.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming I’d been in a crash. Pretty obvious it was a scam but I decided to humour her and see where it would lead. Told her straight up I hadn’t been in any accident. She insisted it had been logged in an “accident log”. I asked her a few times for the car registration shown in this log - she kept trying to change the subject but finally admitted she didn’t have those details. Kept insisting it wasn’t some sales call. After a while I got fed up and just ended the call.

Got a call around 2.30pm on the 13th July from a Manchester number. Since I don’t know anyone in that region, I just let it go to voicemail thinking if it was urgent they’d leave a message. Of course, there wasn’t anything left, and after checking online I now get why. So I’ve blocked the number. A mate mentioned he answered the same call, and the person on the other end tried telling him he’d been in a car crash - which was complete rubbish.
