Got a call at our firm, someone asking for an employee by name, claiming they were from ‘take payments’. When asked to leave a message, they said they'd email instead. They gave a name and sounded pretty legit, so watch out. Ringing the number back sounds official too with an answering machine saying you’ll be put through to a call handler. Just to add to my earlier comment about the scam call, not long after I got a recorded message from a local number starting with 01476. The message warned about a dodgy payment from a foreign firm using our card, which we've never used overseas. It said to press 1 for customer service or 2 to report fraud, and all that. Definitely felt a bit too suspicious to be random, makes you wonder if the first call was legit at all - Spoiler: it wasn’t!!

This morning I got a call from a guy with a Scottish accent using this number. He knew my first name and said he was from some place called ‘Take card payments’, ringing about my business.
