Got a call out of the blue from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying there's a warrant out for my arrest. It was definitely a robotic voice reading it all out. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

It’s so frustrating how these scammers just keep getting away with it, isn’t it? You’d think someone would find a way to put an end to them by now.

Got a call from this Martina Holmes, said she was with BT or something like that. She started talking about hackers messing with my internet and asked me for some details. Told her I don’t even own a computer or tablet. She gave me an employee ID or something to prove she was real but I still felt fishy about it. Ended the call quick since I had no laptop or anything like that.

I keep receiving calls at the crack of dawn, and when I pick up, there's nothing but silence on the other end.

This number keeps ringing me but when I answer, nobody’s there. Got a call from it at 8.10 this morning, and it’s getting really annoying. Someone should really do something about these pest calls!

They rung me again at 8:48 in the morning, after I got a call from them about three days ago. Still no word from them though.

By 10.45 this morning I’d already received three calls, but when I answered no one was on the other end.

Got a call from this number early this morning, before 8am. I’m off sick today with a nasty cold but still picked up. I’m sure I sounded rough as hell. The caller just said “what the hell” and when I asked them to repeat, they just ended the call. Definitely not someone I recognise and I can't imagine any proper company calling like that.

Over the past few mornings, this number has been ringing my landline pretty early. Every time I pick up and say hello, all I get is silence before the call just cuts off. It's been happening for about three days now.

Some guy with an Asian accent called me, saying my internet was hacked from Nigeria or something. I just ended the call, but then he called me again!

No message was left, but I did catch the number that called. What really annoys me is why, if they say they’re from BT, can’t they prove it? Seems dodgy to pretend to be them when you’re clearly not. I never pick up these calls when I’m around, you can spot them a mile away if you’ve got caller ID or voicemail. Just a pain, ringing everyone nonstop.

They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail, and honestly, I don’t have a clue who they are from Manchester.

Last November I got a call from a woman who said she was part of BT Openreach. Turns out it was a scam. Openreach really need to crack down on these dodgy calls, it's about time they did.

Got a call from some so-called BT rep saying there was an issue with my internet. I just told him he’s really rubbish at trying to scam people. He chuckled a bit and then quickly ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent early this morning claiming to be from Openreach. She warned me my internet would be cut off for a few days because apparently someone from Brazil hacked my IP between 2 and 4 am. She said she wasn’t after any money, just wanted to help. I asked her for my account number to check her authenticity, and she quickly blurted out a number. I can’t say if it was right, but I know real BT staff wouldn’t hand that info over so easily. I get loads of calls like this - sometimes I just play along to mess with them a bit.

Got a call at about 8.40 from a woman who sounded Indian, claiming to be with BT Openreach. I told her I wasn’t actually with BT, but she kept saying they handle all internet stuff. When I told her that wasn’t right, she threatened to cut off my internet. I just hung up. These nuisance calls happen to me quite a lot.

Got a call on my BT landline from a woman who had an Asian accent, quite hard to catch what she was saying. She claimed to be from Openreach and warned me that my internet would be cut off for a couple of hours sometime soon because apparently my IP address was compromised. I got really wary and ended up just hanging up. The number popped up on my caller ID, so I decided to check with BT and stumbled across this website afterwards.

Same with me - got a call from this Indian bloke calling himself "Jason," said he worked for BT Openreach and that someone was using my internet without me knowing or something like that. I let him talk for a while to see where it was going but got fed up and just ended the call. He keeps ringing me really early in the morning, but most times there's nothing but silence on the other end.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, said her name was Martina Holmes and she was from BT Openreach. She started telling me that someone from Brazil tried to hack my internet between 2 and 3 in the morning and asked if I knew anything about it. Then she said they were going to cut off my internet for seven hours as a security thing. She asked what gadgets I had connected online, and when I said just my phone and tablet, she then checked if I had a laptop or computer. When I said no, just those two, she abruptly ended the call. Pretty strange!

Got a call at 7.50am on 22/2 from someone saying they were from BT Openreach, telling me my IP was being used somewhere else. They gave me some kind of ID code and asked me to repeat it back. This is actually the second time I’ve had a call like this recently, but the first one came from a number based in Edinburgh.

Got a call off someone claiming to be from BT Openreach, sounded really sure of themselves. They told me to jot down a number, said it was for security reasons. The person said someone was messing with my internet between 2 and 4 in the morning. They asked me to log into my PC so they could ‘show me proof’ of it. I reckon they wanted to get remote access to my computer. I just cut the call right then and there.
