The person on the line asked me to ring a number for more information. Strangely, they didn’t mention my name, the specific debit card, or even the bank connected to it. Quite fishy, if you ask me!6 yearsI’ve just received a rather dubious call. It was a pre-recorded spiel about a £600 payment being processed overseas on my debit card. The message instructed me to press 1 if I had indeed made this transaction, or 2 to connect with the Fraud Prevention team. They also warned that failing to respond would result in my card being halted. I promptly ended the call. Interestingly, I had a similar experience yesterday - received two calls from different numbers starting with 01572, specifically 01572341952 and 01572848030. They claimed that my Visa card was charged £399.
