Had the typical spiel about issues with my internet, obviously some guy from India struggling with his English, plus that noisy call centre hum in the background. I let rip with my colourful language and he quickly hung up. But then I got bombarded with loads more calls from 0161 numbers linked to some thunderer scam. Ended up blasting my whistle to full volume - hope it shook them up a bit! Honestly, BT and Ofcom don’t seem to be doing nearly enough. Who even rents out these numbers? If there’s so many complaints, why aren’t these lines just shut down?

They’ve rung me up three times today even though I told them to stop. Doesn’t really feel like a proper Mancunian move!

Some bloke said he was from BT and told me there was a problem with my internet, said it’d be cut off for like 10 days because of some “strange activity.” He wanted me to unplug all my devices straight away. When I told him I’d ring BT directly to check if that was true, he just hung up on me. Also, even though the number looked like an 0161 one, my caller ID showed it was actually coming from abroad. Definitely dodgy.

Received a call claiming that my computer is riddled with viruses, only for them to hang up on me abruptly. Quite the nuisance!

i just hang up right away as soon as it started ringing, didnt bother to talk at all.

I just said “hello” and they cut me off straight away. Bet they were gonna claim to be from BT, I can tell.
