The initial time they gave me a bell, they abruptly disconnected as soon as I picked up. On their subsequent attempt, it was just an automated message, starting with "Hello, this is the MoneyHut. When I get those pesky calls, I like to say I’m pretty deaf and then let them get all shouty at me - it cracks me up! I tell ’em they’ve reached the local funeral director and it’s hilarious hearing them apologise for disturbing me. A copper once told me to try blowing a whistle into the phone, which was a laugh. My own children, both in their forties, would never dream of speaking to me that way.
