On the 14th of October 2024, I got a call to my phone around 11 in the morning. The number looked like it was from Manchester, but the lady on the other end had quite a thick accent, sounded Asian to me, and her English wasn’t very clear. She mentioned something about representing my car company, but it all felt fishy, so I just hung up. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Got a call claiming to be from Amazon saying I’d purchased a £49 gift card. I told them I don’t even have an Amazon account, and then she said my internet must’ve been hacked. When I said I don’t have internet at all, she just ended the call.

From her reaction, it’s clear she knows it’s all a con. Just don’t engage with this number, it’s definitely dodgy.
