A bloke called 'Jason' phoned up asking for my mum, who’s 91. When I asked what it was regarding, he wanted to know who I was first. Once I said I was her son, he just cut the call straight away. I used the 1471 service to find his number and rang it back only to get an automated message saying the number doesn’t accept incoming calls. I reckon if 'Jason' had got through to my elderly mum, it would’ve ended in some sort of scam or dodgy business. Seriously, steer clear of this one!

This guy called about some “exclusive offer” on my TV insurance, claiming I hadn’t filed any claims before. Thing is, I actually did make a claim a few months back, so I was pretty sure it was a con. The moment I told him I’d already claimed on my policy, he just hung up on me.
