Some bloke with an Indian accent said he was calling from O2 and could cut my bill by 30%. He mentioned he’d send me a couple of texts and seemed proper like he was from O2. Clearly a scam though, so I just hung up on him.

Got a call on my mobile, you’d expect if it was O2 they’d check I’m not a customer first! Anyway, she kept asking who was calling like four or five times, sounded like some auto contract thing. Her English was terrible, I told her I didn’t know what she meant and then they just hung up. Tried calling back, even though I blocked the number - weirdly, same one rang again.

This number rang my elderly mum pretending to offer a discount on her phone bill, saying they’d connect her to billing (but it was obvious they hadn’t thought it out ‘cause their whole spiel was rubbish and they were hard to understand). I picked up since it showed Manchester. There was a bit of a delay before someone with a South Asian accent came on. He said he was calling from Three and asked me what phone I use. When I asked why he wouldn’t know that already, he said he worked in promotions, not info. Then when I asked where he got my number from, he just ended the call.
