If you genuinely want the calls to end, you HAVE to report every scam attempt to 'Action Fraud'. Take just a little time to check out the posts from the last couple of pages. The scammers are fully aware most people don't bother reporting, which is exactly why they keep at it.

Got a few calls claiming to be from O2, but they always start with this weird silence and then the person sounds all muddled. Pretty obvious scam. Best to just ignore them.

They claimed to be from 02. I told them I’m not a customer. They went on about my contract. Totally a scam, no doubt.

They rang me a couple of times in a few days but never left a voicemail. I didn’t answer since the number seemed fishy to me. After checking it out online, I’m pretty certain it’s just spam or some sort of scam. Wouldn’t trust it at all.

I ignored the call and marked it as spam after seeing other comments say it’s an O2 scam, so best not to pick up.

That hidden green one there really shows why you need to tell the police bout every scam call you get. After you do, come back here and share how simple it was to report it through their setup.

If you're wondering why all these scam calls keep coming through, it’s pretty straightforward. Just check the last couple of pages on this thread and you’ll find what’s behind it. A tiny fraction of these scams actually succeed, which still means the scammers rake in hundreds of millions of pounds every year (this was even shown in that Channel 5 documentary about phone scams). Most of these calls and texts are simply ignored and not reported, so the police don’t have much to go on. How to report these scams properly is explained in some posts a few pages back from here.

That Channel 5 show on phone scams didn’t really cover how to actually report them, but thankfully, a lot of that info has been shared here. The programme did share some shocking stats about the amount of money these scammers are stealing from us annually. It’s honestly mind-blowing - hundreds of millions of pounds! If you don’t report every scam call to the police, they’re never going to put a stop to it.

I couldn’t really hear what they were saying so I just said ‘pardon?’. Then they hung up and told me to f*** off!

Got a call from some Indian call centre pretending to be O2. They asked what network I use and what phone I have. I told them I was still paying 1000 rupees a month for my old Nokia 3210, which I use to play snake. After that, the bloke just told me to **** off and hung up. Total scam.
3 years
SCAM ALERT! They pretended to be O2 offering loads of bargain deals but refused to verify any of my info, blaming GDPR. Surely O2 can share at least a name or something basic. Heads up though, they somehow got a one-time passcode sent to the O2 message thread on my phone amongst all my texts, no idea how that happened. Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE THEM THE CODE. Like it said in their message - just hang up the call!

I informed DIDWW about the rude language used towards a child who emailed me saying they had stopped using this number... yet, it seems like there are still comments coming through!

Its crazy how scammers get away with it cause people dont take the time to tell the police. The fraud team have even made a simple way to report these scam calls. You can find how to do it in the posts just a bit earlier on this thread, go back like one and a half pages and you’ll spot it.

These crooks wont be caught or put behind bars unless people actually report their dodgy calls. Info on how to report is right here in this thread. If you cant be arsed to flag them up, dont expect anything to change. That Channel 5 show on Scam Calls mentioned here said these scammers rake in hundreds of millions of pounds every single year.
