Loads of scammers using these sorts of numbers, mostly from Manchester. Best not to answer or they just keep calling over and over. Just block them straight away, they just wanna steal your details and cash. Proper dodgy!

Got a call from someone named Harry, sounded like he had a really strong accent, said he was from the National Debt Helpline. He wanted a number to ring me later after I’ve finished work. I received a call from someone named Harry, whose accent was quite pronounced, representing the National Debt Helpline. He requested a number to ring me back after my shift. I specifically mentioned that I preferred to contact them at a time that suited me, yet just like that, he abruptly ended the conversation. Quite baffling, really!

Someone claiming to be from BlackHorse Finance called saying I was due about £2500 from PPI. He knew my name and address but asked me to confirm my date of birth. When I refused, he got a bit pushy and said if I was sending anything, I’d have given him my address already. I asked if he was gonna ask for my bank info next and he quickly said no. Then he tried to offer me his own date of birth 🙄. I’ve also had loads of calls where no one speaks and then they just hang up.

I’ve encountered a similar situation - his constant attempts were quite unsettling. I requested he email me some information, and he agreed but insisted on taking my details first. He kept repeating, “Don’t panic, it’s not a scam, I’m not after your money,” which only made me more uneasy, so I decided to hang up. This marks about the fourth or fifth time he’s tried to get through to me. I’ve been avoiding his calls, chiefly because the first time we conversed, I had a very loud baby in the background - which he undoubtedly heard - yet he still refused to conclude the call. I wouldn't place any trust in this character at all.

Blimey, I nearly fell for it! Total scam, I tell you! They were going on about having some PPI payout waiting for me and tried to persuade me to hand over funds from my bank account. They even had the cheek to suggest I log into my online banking to approve the transactions! Best to steer clear of these con artists, folks. Don’t get taken in by their tricks!

Loads of calls from different numbers all beginning with 0161 keep popping up, I block one and another rings soon after. It’s so annoying, they just drop the call as soon as I pick up. I’ve started ignoring all 0161 calls now - lucky I don’t have mates in Manchester! If it keeps up, I might have to change my phone number altogether!

I received a call supposedly from BlackRock financial services, claiming to represent Lloyds Bank regarding a potential PPI refund. The caller insisted that I was entitled to a significant payout, and all they required was my bank account details to transfer the funds. When I probed a bit further, he maintained it wasn’t a scam, but as soon as I mentioned looking up the number on this website, he abruptly terminated the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call about some PPI claim saying I was owed £2572 from Blackhorse, caller claimed to be from Birmingham but the phone code was actually Manchester - a bit laughable really. I'm not some old vulnerable person, so I just played along for a bit and then ended the call. Never hand over your personal or bank info to anyone who rings you out of the blue. If they're legit from a bank or finance company, they’d already have those details and wouldn’t suddenly ring you like that.

Got a call from an Asian guy who didn’t say what company he was with, just claimed I qualified for a government deal to swap out central heating if the boiler’s older than 6 years. Told him mine wasn’t that old and he just cut me off. Since I don’t think any scheme like that exists right now, feels like another scam to me.

They've called pretty much every few days for the past couple weeks. The voice sounded Asian and they kept asking about some 'old boiler' we supposedly have. Told them I'm not interested and they just hung up. Got called twice again today but I ignored it.
