3 yearsAvoid picking up the phone for this one! I’ve done some digging into this number, and it turns out they're scammers operating out of India, even though the call might show as coming from Ireland or Manchester. It's a real shame that while this country has the know-how to launch a spacecraft to the moon, it seems utterly helpless when it comes to tackling corruption and fraud. It’s disheartening, to say the least! I've gone ahead and blocked this number.AvoidIndiaIrelandManchester3 yearsI received a call from an Asian lady inquiring about a person named "Wasseem Aktar." Clearly, that isn't my name, so I hung up straight away. This isn't the first time this number has reached out to me, so I’ve now decided to block it altogether. It’s painfully obvious that these calls are from scammers.Wasseem Aktar3 yearsI received a phone call where they attempted to discuss matters related to PPI compensation claims or something along those lines. Complete rubbish!3 yearsIt's been ringing three times a day for the past week, yet no one ever speaks when I answer. Quite odd, really!3 yearsI received a rather unsettling call from an Asian gentleman who was clearly searching for someone else. When I clarified that I wasn’t that individual, his response was shockingly hostile-he told me to “drop dead” or cough up £5000 for a rather dubious phone sex arrangement with what he described as a unscrupulous woman involved in some shady dealings. It was all very strange and quite alarming, to say the least.3 yearsI received a call from someone claiming I was eligible for a tax refund and that she needed to verify some personal information. I mentioned that I could simply contact HMRC myself to sort out any potential tax rebate. Curious about "Tax Tree," the name on a letter I received regarding this rebate, I inquired about them, and she warned me that they were fraudsters. I pointed out that, for all I knew, she could be pulling a scam herself, and I'd rather not share any of my personal information. Despite her insistence that I might miss out on some funds, I remained firm in my decision, telling her I had no intention of providing her with any information. She then abruptly hung up on me.HMRC3 yearsPut a stop to these persistent "hounds." Appreciate it!3 yearsI’ve been receiving calls from the number 0161, along with various others, and I’ve stopped answering them altogether. I've taken the step of blocking every single number that comes through, yet I still find myself inundated with at least two or three calls on a daily basis.Submit Your Own Report (0161 394 0816)
