We got a call at work from 0161 394 0235, the bloke asked if he was talking to someone in charge. When I said no, he just kept chatting away, claiming to be from some gas and electricity consultancy. I told him my manager wasn’t free right now, so he asked if I could give him the mobile number instead. I said no, and then he started moaning about how he was supposed to get in touch. He then dropped his name, Abdul, and said my boss should call him back on 07378 454717, saying he worked for uSwitch. Not too sure if this was all genuine, bit dodgy if you ask me!

Some bloke rang me saying he was from Eco Energy Services in Slough, though he said it more like "sloo". Then his supervisor popped up saying he was based in Southend. I asked if I could speak to someone English and he went, "Well, you’re speaking to me." I replied, "You're not English, is this some call centre in India just dialing numbers randomly?" He admitted it was, but claimed they were working for Eco Energy Services, and then gave me a 0207 London number to ring back. Honestly, it smelt like a dodgy phishing scam, but they’re pretty rubbish at it so far.

They rang up pretending to be from Just Eat and asked for the owner but didn’t even know the name, which a proper rep definitely would. Claimed they needed to update settings on my order pad, but that’s not something Just Eat ever does. Seemed dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the "Gas and Electricity Department" with an Indian accent. The guy asked how I was, but when I said I was alright until he phoned, he just ignored that. Told him to do one. It's pointless signing up with the Telephone Preference Service when spoofing like this goes on. If they actually fixed that, I bet there'd be far fewer scams.
