Clearly a bunch of con artists attempting to illegally infiltrate my O2 account.

I'd advise against answering the phone and just go ahead and block the number.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming he’s with O2. I just ended the call straight away.

Couldn’t make out her name or the company but it was a woman with a strong Indian accent saying she wanted to give me a discount as a loyal customer so I just ended the call. Then they rang back almost straight away (which is odd, normally they don’t bother). I got curious and picked up, and the same lady was quite pushy asking why I hung up on her. I told her “I don’t know who you are and I’m not wasting time on scam calls.” She hung up just seconds after I said that. Bet she wasn’t happy! Number’s blocked now 😂

My phone just blocked 01613940219 straight away thinking it was some kind of scam. Glad I didn’t pick up and had a quick look online, seems loads of folks have reported it as a dodgy scam call.

So annoying and rude, probably one of the worst scam calls ive had in ages. Definitely blocked now.

I had a right dodgy call from someone pretending to be from O2, putting on a daft accent as if I wouldn’t notice. I soon set him straight, and he hung up faster than you can say “scam.”

Received a call claiming to provide a 40% discount on my O2 bill. They insisted that I share a 6-digit security code that was supposedly sent to me by O2. Instantly, my instincts kicked in, and I realised something was off.

WATCH OUT FOR SCAMMERS! I received a rather convincing call purporting to be from O2, claiming they could knock 40% off my phone contract for the next year as part of a Black Friday special. The representative assured me that it required no effort on my part; I'd simply see the new deal reflected in my O2 app once everything was wrapped up. They didn't ask for any personal details but mentioned that calls were recorded for security purposes and promised to send a text from O2 featuring a 6-digit verification code. True to their word, the message came through, and it was indeed from the same number I typically get O2 communications from. I provided them the code, but then they dropped the final query: my mother's maiden name. That set alarm bells ringing! I promptly ended the call, but they persisted, attempting to ring me back five times. Upon checking my O2 account, I realised they were cleverly exploiting the password reset feature while I was on the line. They initiated the reset, triggering a verification that buzzed to my phone, and then asked me for either my mother’s maiden name or the last four digits of my bank account number. I strongly suspect they aimed to gain access to place an order for a phone on my account and send it to a different location altogether. They were incredibly persuasive, creating an air of confidence as they asked for no initial information and even knew my email address! I sincerely hope this warning aids someone else in dodging a scam.

They claimed I could cut my landline charges by 80% or something like that, but when I asked if they understood GDPR and had my permission to ring my personal mobile, they just ended the call.

Got a call from this number, said they were from 02. The accent was really odd and they were quite rude when I said I didn't want to talk anymore. Then they got all angry and started threatening to block my number. Watch out, folks!

Received a call from someone asking about the details of my mobile contract? Quite curious, if you ask me!

These individuals are absolutely despicable.

They keep calling me every day, at least once. I just ignore it cos I can't block the number on my phone. Proper annoying!

I received a call from a chap who was promoting an iPhone deal, claiming he obtained my number because I'm a client of Alter. I found his accent a bit tricky to follow, to be honest.

Guy could hardly speak English. Said my O2 number was chosen for a 40% discount and then wanted my personal info. I hung up and he phoned back like 8 times. Every time I just ended the call. Don’t pick up if this number rings you.

DO NOT PICK UP! I got calls from someone saying they were O2, claiming my number is with O2 - which it definitely isn’t because I’m with a different network. When I answered the first time, they said they were O2 but I told them I wasn’t an O2 customer. After a bit of back and forth, they just hung up. Then they rang again about 20 minutes later, but I ignored it since I knew it was them.

A bloke said he was from O2 giving out discounts, but it's obvious a scam since I’m not even with O2!

Got a call from someone saying I could cut costs on my bill, but I’m not even an O2 customer. When I hung up, they rang me back asking why I ended the call! So I just hung up again and blocked their number straight away!

Got a call from this number, the lady on the phone was really hard to make out but I did catch O2 mentioned, her accent was quite strong. I’ve never been a customer of O2 so I told her that and hung up straight away. Blocked the number now.

Got a dodgy call from 02, total scam.

They claimed to be from O2 saying I get a discount, but I don't even have O2. Total scam.

Some bloke with a foreign accent said he was from O2 and told me I could get 40% off. I haven’t been with O2 for ages. I ended the call but then he phoned back asking why I’d cut off. I told him I wasn’t interested, but he kept trying to chat. I’ve blocked the number so he can’t bother me anymore.

Someone called claiming to be from O2 about a promotion. I figured it was likely a scam and told them I only deal with stuff like that through email. Then they got all aggressive and just ended the call!

O2 scammers, just trying to con people out of their money.

It seemed like they were calling from a busy place, maybe a train station, so I didn't think it was legit. They took ages to say hello and mumbled a lot, making no sense. I told them to stop messing about or I’d hang up. So, I just ended the call. Saw some other comments saying it was O2, but I haven’t had O2 in over two years, so I reckon it’s a scam.

I reckon it was one of those telemarketing calls, they were trying to sell me kitchen stuff. Not sure if it was a scam or a proper call, but I wasn’t interested, so I just said no thanks. After that, the guy said alright and hung up.

Had a hard time catching what the bloke was saying, spoke super quick and had an asian accent. From what I could gather, he mentioned something about o2.

I got a call from someone named Hussain Mohammed claiming to be from O2, offering to cut my sim only plan cost by 30%. He couldn’t really give me any clear info about my current plan or my account details, which was pretty odd.

I just let it ring and didn’t pick up.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was with o2, trying to push a new upgrade on me. I said I wasn’t up for it, but he kept on at me. Then he sent a text with some code, like it was urgent or something, but I didn’t fall for it. Told him I’d report the number if he kept it up. Pretty sure it was a total scam.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent. When I asked her why she was ringing, she sounded really unsure. Made me think it was a scam because she got rattled when I pressed her for details and didn’t stick to whatever script she was probably supposed to follow.
