She actually asked for me by name. I replied with "Can I ask who’s calling?", and she went on saying, "Good morning Mr #£$%^&(), I’m ringing about a government backed boiler scheme". I just said "No thank you" and ended the call, then blocked the number. These numbers are easy to get from BT and can be used from any part of the world. This time it was a Manchester number, next time it could be Aberdeen or somewhere completely different.

A bloke called askin for someone who aint at this address. When I told him that, he just ended the call right away. I overheard a woman telling him to just hang up before he did.

A lady rang up asking for the owner by name and began talking about some government backed boiler scheme. Something felt off, so I asked a few more questions. She said after they checked out the house, they could give me an estimate of around £200-£300 for fitting underfloor insulation and a new boiler, but only if the boiler was over 7 years old. I asked what company she was from and she said Eco-suite. After the call, I looked up Eco-Suite and couldn’t find anything about them anywhere. The whole thing just seemed dodgy. It’s a bit worrying that they already knew the owner’s name.
