Today, 21st June 2022 around 1:15 pm, I got a call from a recorded voice claiming to be Visa about some supposed fraudulent activity on my debit card - two payments, one for £1000 and another for £300. I immediately thought it was a scam but decided to see how it played out, so I pressed to speak to an agent. The man who came on had a foreign accent and acted like I was the one who’d called him. I told him I got the call from them about possible fraud. He asked if I had pressed a button to cancel anything, and I said no, I just pressed to talk to someone. Then he asked if I had a PC, laptop or smartphone, and I said no, which seemed to throw him off a bit. After that, he asked which bank I used, and I said several and asked which bank the fraud was supposed to be for. After that, he just hung up. This is actually the second similar call I’ve had this week, and I gave the same responses last time - he hung up then too. Watch out, folks!

For the past month or so, my husband and I have been getting about six or seven calls every day from this number claiming to be from Bank Security. It’s really distressing because we’re both older, have disabilities, and it’s making us quite anxious. I got a call just like this one last week but from a different phone number. It was an automated voice telling me that there were unauthorised transactions on my bank account.
