I had the experience of chatting with this chap who seemed rather courteous at first, but when I expressed my disbelief in his claims, he turned quite aggressive. He insisted that I was owed a tax refund from some firm I’ve never come across before. The fellow maintained I’d overpaid my taxes and proceeded to ask for my bank details to supposedly deposit the funds directly into my account. Just a word of caution for everyone out there!

Got this really pushy message saying I need to ring H. G. straight away about some tax thing, with a warning that the police’ll be breaking down my door to arrest me before today ends. Bit much, even for our poor, busy tax folks, bless their socks.
