This bloke had one of those American accents and was pretending to be from HM Revenue or something. Then he started banging on about legal troubles if I didn’t comply, but ended the call with a ‘take care’. Pretty weird!

I got a call from an automated woman saying my BT home phone was at risk and to press 1. I don’t even own a BT landline! I hung up and decided to ring BT myself, and they confirmed it was a scam, with the call originating from a Manchester number.
