Today, I received a rather dubious call from a foreign gentleman who purports to be an HMRC staff member. He insisted that I’m facing charges for tax evasion and demanded that I settle the matter within a matter of days. It’s quite clear to me that this is a scam, as HMRC typically communicates through formal letters or emails, not over the phone.
