6 yearsToday I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise and it turned out to be part of that HMRC scam. First, I got a call around 3.30pm telling me to press 1 or face jail time. Then about 10 minutes later, at 3.42pm, the scammer called again. I pressed 1 just to see what was going on, but thankfully I didn’t send any money. They’re really good at sounding official, especially when they talk about going to jail for tax fraud unless you pay up. The sneakiest bit?
