Ignored the call and looked it up here - the number’s now blocked - The same firm has tried ringing from different numbers as well. (also looked them up here). This site really helps to deal with these annoying calls.

They said they were calling from CLC World and mentioned I’d taken part in a competition through a survey. I might have done, as I do enter those sometimes. They told me the draw was in June and just wanted to know if they could send me some details, also making sure they’d got the correct phone number for me.

At our place, we dont pick up calls from numbers we dont recongise. If they hang up, we look them up on this site and 95% turns out to be dodgy callers. Really handy site for finding out who tried to ring, cheers!

Got a call from a nice woman from clc world travel claiming I’d won a contest for a holiday while I was at Alicante airport. That part’s true; I did stop and chat with someone holding a clipboard there. The prize draw is supposed to be in December, but she was offering a free week holiday to several destinations. Sounds like a timeshare scheme to me. I did look at their website, and it seems genuine enough, but I’ve been down this road before and I’m not interested in repeating it.

Just got a call from this number, some holiday firm claiming I won a free trip. They said I gotta go to Manchester for a 50-minute chat to claim the prize, and they'll sort out overnight stay too. All they want is a small booking fee upfront, which they say you get back after the holiday. Don’t fall for it, it’s definitely a timeshare push. Sure, you get the holiday, but they’ll pressure you into buying a timeshare, so watch out.

1. The woman ringing from this number spoke nicely! But 2. I haven’t done any phone surveys for contests - especially ones only for folks making the same as "accountants" or similar jobs. You might win a trip, but chances are your number gets shared with other firms. I reckon it’s best to just ignore calls like this.
