I got a call from some loan place asking me to pay with an iTunes gift card in order to get the loan. My partner got suspicious and called them out on it, and then they actually admitted it was a scam. But the minute he said he had the call recorded, they quickly changed their tune. Total SCAM!!!

I’ve been getting these same calls left on my answerphone for weeks now, like once or twice each week. I was actually about to ring this Heather Gray person today. Glad I checked this out first. Those angry threats about legal stuff were really stressing me out. I figured I’d wait to see if I got a letter, and when nothing showed up I hadn’t called back sooner. I got a missed call and called back, only to have a really strange chat with a woman who claimed there was some issue with my income tax. She never asked for any proof of who I was! Instead, she said I had to provide my “lawyer’s” name (which I think is an American thing?) to fix things before they took my house and froze my credit cards. I kept asking what she was on about and demanded some proper info, but then after a bit of back and forth, she just hung up on me. These calls are so dodgy and upsettting. Seriously, they need to be stopped because not everyone is clever enough to spot these scams and it could really mess people up.

Weirdly, I also had a call from someone saying they were from BT security about my computer being infected. When I questioned him, he got really hostile and started threatening to call me everyday! OFCOM seriously needs to crack down on these calls, they’re intimidating and could easily trick someone innocent into losing loads of money just by picking up the phone!

Got a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC Customs and Revenue. They never said who to call back, just that the call had to be returned immediately or legal action would begin.
