This number has been calling me quite a bit recently, loads of missed calls from it. I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers or when I’m not waiting for anyone to ring. But since it kept ringing, I decided to pick up and find out who it was. The moment I answered, they just hung up straight away.

Just like some others have said, why not make it a bit of a laugh? When I get calls like this, I usually go with, “Oh wow, I’ve been hoping you’d ring! Hang on a moment, yeah?” Then I pop the phone near the radio or some music I’m playing, like it's proper hold music, and see how long they stick around. Fingers crossed it racks up their call charges a bit!

Got phone calls from this number twice today. First call, some woman with no name said she was from some inspector group, asking about supposed damp because of cavity walls. I told her my walls are fully insulated and called her out for lying about her identity, then I hung up. Later, at about 5:30, another call came through. I said hello a few times but no answer at first. Then I heard a sort of panicked noise like she realised I was listening, then the call just cut off.

Got a call from a guy who knew my name and said there were complaints about the cavity wall insulation we put in like 25 years ago causing damp and mould.
