Got called by a scammer, was totally shady.

Received a call today from someone purporting to be from Amazon, insisting that my Prime membership had lapsed. They abruptly terminated the call as soon as I mentioned that I was aware they weren't actually affiliated with Amazon, given that my subscription is valid until March 2023. How dodgy!

They kept pushing me to say who lives at my place. I asked nicely if they could take me off their call list. When I got a bit more blunt, they ended up telling me to, well, do something rude to my mum, but not in a very polite way.

Just had a rather dodgy phone call from this number moments ago. The person on the other end insisted that I’d been in a car accident, which I definitely did not! They went on about how I could claim compensation for it. When she asked for my banking information to sort everything out, I knew it was a phishing scheme. I wasted no time ending the call and promptly blocked the number. What a con!

Had a call like that where they said I'd been in a crash and could claim some money. Seems like one of those dodgy compensation scams to me.

My mate got a phone call from this number claiming to be from HMRC, saying if she didn’t hit 1 she’d get arrested. She freaked out a bit and pressed 1, then got put through to someone she couldn’t really make out, who kept asking for some kind of reference numbers. After chatting for like 5 mins, the caller suddenly hung up on her.

That number is just Leeds council's main line, could be any of their departments phoning. Would be nice if they dropped a voicemail or something though.
