Some bloke named Alan or something, with quite a thick Indian accent, rang me up saying I was entitled to a £6,500 PPI refund. Thing is, I never made any claim like that. I told him straight up I don't chat about that sort of thing on the phone, especially to strangers calling out of the blue. I asked him to send all the paperwork through the post instead - he’d have my address surely, if he was actually handling a claim. After that, he just hung up on me. So now I'm kinda looking forward to seeing this paperwork turn up, fingers crossed! ;)

What a complete muppet. He phoned my mobile and just as he was going through his pitch, another call came through. I told him I needed to put him on pause to answer it, only to realise it was actually him ringing from a different number! Seems like his auto-dialler totally fluffed it. He just hung up straight away and left it at that!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Sterling Bank, trying to open an account in my name. They used an address I haven't lived at since before 2004, which was a red flag. Then they asked for my bank info to supposedly refund me £6,000 - I said no way. When it came to giving a passcode, I told them I wasn’t going any further and they just ended the call. They also wanted my passport or driving licence details, which seemed fishy. I’ve alerted Sterling Bank about the whole thing, and they were very understanding and promised to look into it.

They also wanted me to download an app, and when i said my phone wouldn't let me, they got really upset, going on about how i had to do it within 5 minutes to get the money. I asked if they could send me something in writing first, but all i got was them saying i'd receive it later. I ended the call, but then they rang back and started being really rude and making inappropriate comments.

I received a call from someone who claimed to know my name and mentioned PPI. Upon telling him about my bankruptcy situation, he rudely remarked that I sounded like someone who'd been declared bankrupt. To make matters worse, he then made an utterly inappropriate suggestion, followed by some rather unsettling heavy breathing. I found his behaviour revolting and promptly hung up. It was quite an unpleasant encounter, and I sincerely hope he doesn't try to contact me again.
