This number has ringed me literally loads of times, like 6 times just in the past 10 minutes! They claimed to be from a care home that saw my CV on total jobs[###]. Yeah, my CV's there, but the constant callin over the past few weeks and what people say here makes me doubt it’s really a care home. I just ended the call once they told me who they were. The person barely spoke any English too.

They rang me three times claiming to be from HMRC about a serious 'Lawsuit' that needed urgent attention, said it was for me but never used my name, and kept telling me it was my 'last chance'. Honestly, HMRC always send letters first. The giveaway was when 'officer Lisa' from HMRC wished me a Blessed Day - how odd! Definitely a scam. Glad to read others’ experiences, it’s reassuring!

Phoned my dad who’s quite old and he was told to buy Apple iTunes cards worth nearly £5000 to sort out some alleged unpaid taxes. Luckily, the local shop didn’t have that much to sell, and I got there in time to stop him from trying other places. It’s awful how these scams target older people like that.

Got two really scary calls from 01613540608 today. One came through at 11.08 and the other at 13.03. Both left voicemail saying I’d face a serious lawsuit if I didn’t get back to them. The caller claimed to be Officer Lisa from HRMC. They gave two numbers to ring back, 01613540608 and another one ending in 0312. I’ve reported everything to 101 and also Action Fraud to warn others.

My mum, who’s 79, got two calls like this today. The second time she rang 1471 and got the number, which turned out to be the classic HMRC scam. They were threatening legal action if she didn’t ring back, but the message was all muddled and hard to understand, finishing with ‘have a blessed day’. She knows it’s a scam but it still really upset her, and she’s worried about other people who might get scared and ring that number back. The number’s from Manchester, by the way.

I just got a call like this too, supposedly from HMRC. It was one of those automated voices saying something like 'This is an urgent message for you. Officer Lisa from HMRC, call this number now or face serious penalties.' The quality was rubbish and it dragged on for ages. At the end, it actually said 'Have a good and blessed day' which made me chuckle. Honestly, it's maddening because I worry some folks might panic before realising it's a scam. It’s a bit of a nasty surprise initially.

Looks like they’re going after folks over 70. I’m curious how they’re finding these phone numbers. They called my 79 year old mum who’s pretty sharp, and all I got was a terrible voice message. Totally not HMRC - they’d be way more professional and would have more info about you. Plus, you’d get loads of letters from them well before it got to this stage.

Said to be HMRC in London but the phone number showed up as Manchester. My mum got proper worried and called me. First someone actually spoke to her, then she got calls from an automated message. I told her if another real person calls again to just tell them she’s not interested since she’s shifting house tomorrow, and if they mention an arrest warrant, she should say she’s looking forward to free meals every day while in custody.
