Phone number ☎️ 01613532462 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance originating from an individual claiming to represent the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Callers often use an Asian accent, provide incorrect or misleading information, and sometimes request personal details or payment for a supposedly premium call-blocking service. These calls occur frequently, including early mornings, and may involve threats or rude behaviour when questioned. The genuine TPS service in the UK is free and does not make unsolicited calls or demand money. Numerous reports describe hang-ups when challenged and complete silence upon answering. The number is widely considered a scam operation targeting vulnerable individuals, including the elderly, and is strongly advised to be blocked. Genuine TPS enquiries should be made directly through official channels, and personal information should never be shared in response to unsolicited calls.

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Asian, claiming he was from the TPS. He kept pressing me for my name and postcode. When I asked what the call was about, he just cut me off! Obviously, they're still out there trying to scam folks.

I received calls from this number on both yesterday and today, well before 7:45 AM! An individual with an Asian accent was rambling on about putting a stop to these pesky calls. It’s clearly some sort of scam!

Absolutely need to block this number, can’t recall the exact date they rang, loads of these p###### bug me every month. Just a heads up for anyone who’s unsure, the TPS is totally free - don’t give out any details or pay up.

On Saturday the 20th of January, I got two calls from this number. The first came in at about half past seven in the morning, and then they called again later that day. The second caller sounded like a woman with a Canadian or American accent. When I asked why they were ringing me, there was a long pause, then I told her we only ever call the TPS, not get called by them. After more silence, I shouted down the phone asking if she was deaf, and then she just cut me off.

Got a call around 10 from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he worked for the Telephone Preference Service. He said my subscription to block annoying calls was about to run out and that it’d cost me £5.95 each month to keep it going. I told him I’d never paid for that before and if it was really effective, how come he managed to get through? Suddenly, he called me a plonker and asked why I was being so rude to him, so I just ended the call straight away.

I've received a barrage of calls from this number, and despite repeatedly requesting that they cease contacting us and remove our number from their list, they completely disregard my pleas. It's utterly frustrating now! 😡

Not sure who it is, but I've had about 5 calls recently, all weird times like late at night or early morning. I ignore the calls and after a bit, some automated message says the number's no longer in service or something similar. I tried 1471 and the Virgin system said it’s from a network that doesn’t reveal numbers, but the caller ID did show the number anyway. I'm guessing it's some spammy scammers trying to push stuff. Hopefully blocking them will do the trick, haven’t heard from them in a while now.

I received a couple of calls from this number today-one at 8:07 in the morning and another one at half ten. They claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service. I just ended the calls without engaging. The first caller was a chap, while the second was a lady. Are these lot just trying to pull a fast one?

Got a call from an Asian guy saying he was with the Telephone Preference Service. He already knew my name and postcode, which seemed odd. He told me he’d help stop all those annoying calls if I just gave him some info to register me. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I ended the call straight away.

This morning, at half past eight, my elderly father, who is 81 years of age, received a call from this number. Unfortunately, he wasn’t quick enough to answer it, and they failed to leave a message. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first instance of him being contacted by this particular number. It’s quite distressing for him, especially since they have phoned more than once. He’s registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and when I reached out to them for assistance, they informed me there’s little they can do as it doesn’t fall under the category of sales or marketing calls. It's incredibly frustrating, particularly as these calls can be quite alarming for older individuals.

Got a call from some bloke, said his name was John and claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He warned me that from tomorrow I’d get loads of unwanted calls. But he called me by the wrong name and reckoned I pay my phone bill by direct debit, which isn’t true. I played along, giving him all sorts of made-up answers that he acted like were right. Then I told him the real TPS never charge you or ask for your bank details. I finished by telling him the only annoying call I’m getting is from him and told him to take his scam elsewhere.

This morning at eight o’clock, I received a call from a rather brusque chap who claimed his name was Mark and spoke with an Asian accent. Quite oddly, he seemed to know my name right off the bat. He identified himself as being from the Telephone Preference Service but swiftly hung up when I mentioned that it wasn’t the best time for me to chat. Very peculiar indeed!

Got a call from this number on my home phone but when I picked up, there was nothing but silence. Had to look them up here to see who it was! Honestly, not sure it's even worth keeping a landline anymore. I’m thinking of disconnecting it and only plugging it back in when I actually need to use it!

Seen a missed call from this number as soon as I got back. Instantly guessed it was dodgy since numbers starting with 0161 are usually scams. I looked it up on this site and it backed up what I thought. Just as I was about to block it, they called again. I cut them off sharp and told them to get lost, then blocked the number straight away. Honestly, it’s so annoying having to deal with these fraudsters - they really need to be tracked down and thrown in jail!

Telephone Preference Service
I received a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to represent the Telephone Preference Service, providing an address in London at 27 Old Gloucester Street, which appears to be a block of flats. I informed them that their approach was nothing but deceitful, demanding payment for a service that simply cannot be offered, especially when cold calls are still coming through without any form of amends. They attempted to refute my claims but were unsuccessful, ultimately hanging up without even the courtesy of a goodbye. Steer clear of these scammers!

Telephone Preference Service I received a call from an individual with an Asian accent claiming to represent the Telephone Preference Service, citing an address in London at 27 Old Gloucester Street, which apparently is one of those apartment buildings. I informed them that their actions were dubious as they were soliciting payment for a service that can't be delivered, and without any kind of compensation when unwanted calls aren’t curbed. They floundered in their attempts to refute my claims and ultimately cut the conversation short, forgoing any polite farewells. Steer clear of these con artists!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service, saying their office was at 27 Old Gloucester Street in London, which is actually just a block of flats. I told them straight up they were running a scam, trying to charge me for a service that can’t actually stop cold calls or offer any refunds. They kept denying it but couldn’t back it up and just hung up abruptly, no goodbye or anything polite. Honestly, stay clear of these con artists.

I received a rather brief call from the States yesterday - it only lasted a mere five seconds. The caller mentioned something about telephone preferences, but I’ve already informed them I’m not interested. After I mentioned this, they promptly ended the call. Quite peculiar, isn’t it?

This number keeps ringing me like 4 or 5 times a week for ages now. I picked up once but there was nobody on the other end. I just ignore it now. They called me again early this morning, like 7:30 and then again at 9. Honestly, getting pretty annoyed with it!

Around 10:10 this morning I got a call and as soon as I heard a voice that sounded Indian greeting me as Mrs, I knew i had to respond quick. I immediately shot back, "Who exactly is this?" you don't just jump right into selling to whoever picks up, especially if you’re guessing wrong. They should start with something to do with the actual person they hear talking, not assume it's the woman they want. Then the call just suddenly ended. Seriously, BT, get your act together and stop letting these fraudsters carry on. Can you actually do something about it?
