I recently received a phone call from this number, and I must say, I never reached out to them at all. To my surprise, my most recent BT bill includes a charge of 27 pence for what they’re claiming was a call I made to them. The caller initially claimed to be from Microsoft, but it was evident that it wasn’t legitimate.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from Microsoft. I didn’t even bother answering the first time and just hung up. Then she rang back using this same number, probably thinking I’d fall for it. Such a rubbish scam, but luckily I’m not one of those easily fooled people. They really don’t give up, do they?

Got a call from someone saying it was about my Virgin Media internet. I said I don’t use Virgin Media, then they tried saying maybe I had Sky internet, which comes through Virgin Media. What a load of rubbish!

I picked up the phone, assuming it was a call from a hospital in Manchester. To my surprise, the caller was claiming to be from Microsoft, stating there was an issue with my computer. The connection was terrible, and as I struggle to hear, I mentioned I didn’t catch what they were saying. In response, the bloke on the other end accused me of faking my deafness in quite an unpleasant manner. I simply thanked him for his lovely comment and hung up.

I received a call from 0161 3445555, and the person on the other end was an Indian-accented woman who claimed to represent Virgin Media. She said there was an issue with my internet connection and that she was there to assist me. It was clearly a scam - her script was quite transparent, and I have no issues with my internet whatsoever. When I began to ask her a few probing questions, she abruptly ended the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I got a call from someone with a strong foreign accent, at first it came through on an O2 number. When I told her the line was poor and I couldn’t really make out what she was saying, she went on about other IP addresses using my broadband and claimed she could sort it out. She called me back on 01634971239, but I wasn’t buying that she was actually from BT and just ended the call. Then she rang that same number again but I didn’t pick up. Oddly enough, around the same time I got a text with a ‘BT passcode’ that seemed to be attached to a legit BT message from 22 August.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were with BT Openreach about my internet speed. They wanted to set up a Weebly website for me, which I wasn't too keen on. When I said that, they called me stupid! I told them that’s not very professional for a BT rep at all. Then they started calling me something else before hanging up. Proper rude.

A quick search on Google revealed that this number is associated with Tameside taxis, yet the individual on the line claimed to be from Virgin Media’s technical support. How odd!
