I suspect this is a scam as I don’t have any ties with O2. The individual on the line asserted they were representing O2, attempting to entice me with a discount on my plan. Their English was quite poor, and they had a distinct foreign accent amidst the clatter of a call centre in the background. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise. I’ve no connections in Manchester, and I’m not expecting any deliveries from there. They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail either.

This person said they were from O2 but they were selling something. They didn’t have any of my info and their accent was really hard to get - a mix of thick Asian and pidgin English which made no sense. Pretty sure it was a scam.

I received a call purporting to be from O2, enquiring whether I had run into any issues with my service. When I expressed disinterest, the chap on the other end, who had quite a thick Asian accent, became extremely agitated and attempted to speak over me. As I ended the conversation, I noticed two messages arriving that appeared to be from O2, each containing a code and stating that I had requested it (which, I assure you, I had not). They warned not to share the code with anyone except for O2 themselves. I promptly deleted those messages. This is clearly a SCAM, especially since reports indicate they’ve previously posed as EE. Do tread carefully!

Received a call from someone claiming to be from Currys PC World, inquiring whether I was interested in upgrading my phone.

They claimed to be calling from EE. They were probing me to verify my bank information, asking about my monthly payments and whether I had any interest in upgrading my mobile device. When I challenged their questions, their tone shifted drastically, becoming quite rude. Eventually, they even suggested that I terminate the call!

They rang claiming to be from Vodafone, offering me a dazzling deal on an iPhone 14 for just £30 a month! I informed them that I’m a loyal Samsung user and promptly ended the call.
