Got a call from a 0161 number, same as others always trying to get into my PC. Told the bloke I wasn’t having it and asked him how he thought he was gonna do that. He just called me crazy and slammed down. Tried ringing back but it just kept ringing forever. These scammers should be stopped and locked up for good. Never ever let anyone get into your computer, it’s dodgy as hell.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT Openreach, saying they'd cut off my line! I ended up telling the bloke to “bugger off, you daft prat!” They really get right under your skin. Honestly, when will these annoying calls stop already? It’s getting ridiculous.

Like others have mentioned, they often claim to be from BT (though sometimes they'll switch to Sky or another provider since they all rely on the same network). If you’re not rushed, I don’t mind wasting their time a bit, but seriously, never give them access to your PC!

I had a call from someone pretending to be BT Openreach, claiming that my internet had been hacked by foreigners. Thing is, BT Openreach isn’t even my internet provider! The woman insisted that all internet services use Openreach, telling me to check it on Google. Honestly, these scammers are pretty scary, and I don’t understand why this kind of thing is still allowed to happen.

Had a call from someone named 'Drake' who claimed to be with BT Openreach. He said they had been watching my internet and found some sort of security problem. He wanted to guide me through some checks but I just told him no and hung up straight away.

This morning I kept getting calls, but whenever I picked up, there was nobody on the other end. I’d already had a call like this yesterday from someone claiming to be Mary Adler from BT. She gave me a CLS ID number and wanted me to check it on my computer. Then she said I had to call 0800 7232021 or visit their HQ at 123 Kings Cross Road in London, or my service would be disconnected within 24 hours. Funny thing is, that place looks like a vacant flat. Really dodgy, if you ask me.

Got called again today by this bloke with an Indian accent, pretending to be from BT. I don't even have BT broadband, so it was pretty clear they were trying to scam me, threatening to cut off my internet. Classic dodgy call.

Got a call saying it was BT warning that our phone would be disconnected for a full day. I asked them for their contract details, but when they couldn’t provide any, I just ended the call since we don’t have one. The next time, it was an automatic call with no one answering, just dead silence before they hung up. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

The guy said his name was Jason but he didn’t really sound like he was a native English speaker. Claimed he was calling from British Telecom. I wasn’t buying it, so just hung up and blocked the number as junk. Then, just the other day, I got another call from an 0161 number - that’s Manchester, right? If he’s really in Manchester, then I must be living in the south pole!

some guy rang me claiming he worked for bt openreach. he said someone using their vpn (not mine) had hacked into my computer and installed malware. he wanted to cut off my internet, which isnt even with bt, and kept asking what was showing on my screen. i told him i thought it was a scam and he just hung up on me. typical!

Some woman with a strange accent called, claiming she was with BT Openreach. She told me someone was trying to hack my broadband, but it’s not even BT. Then she wanted me to go online and let her control my computer to fix the problem. I refused and she threatened to cut off my internet. I told her to go ahead. Honestly, never let anyone take control of your computer like that!
