We reached out to BT for assistance, and they were incredibly supportive, informing us that it’s probably an outbound line that doesn’t take incoming calls, so we shouldn't incur charges for trying to call it back. This number has been ringing me a lot recently, I’m pretty sure it’s the AA since they often use the 0161 code. I phoned them about three weeks back and asked to be taken off their list. It’s something I notice every year when home insurance is up for renewal. Like others have mentioned, I’ve moved my policies to Aviva and Hastings partly because of this. I told them their pushy sales approach really puts me off and is why I’m going elsewhere. I reckon their nonstop calls might scare some older or more vulnerable people into sticking with them though.
