01613217891 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01613217891 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance caller delivering automated messages about free boilers, government grants, and green energy offers, despite many recipients being registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). The calls often occur multiple times daily, including weekends and unsociable hours, causing significant distress and annoyance, especially to vulnerable individuals. Attempts to engage with callers or have numbers removed typically result in hang-ups or ignored requests. The number frequently appears as UK-based but is often routed internationally, making traceability difficult. Many users report that telephone service providers offer limited solutions without additional cost, and the TPS has limited power over recorded calls. Reporting to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is advised, and call blocking devices can offer partial relief, but no foolproof prevention currently exists.

It’s been an ongoing nuisance for several months now, despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service. I absolutely refuse to engage by pressing 2 and falling victim to these charlatans. I reached out to my provider, TalkTalk, and received a rather unsatisfactory response. I’m seriously considering switching providers-why on earth should I fork out £3.25 a month just to be free from this rubbish? It almost feels like the providers are relishing in the extra cash they make from all this chaos. Here's the letter I received from TalkTalk: Dear Mr P W**********S, Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding unsolicited calls. We have examined the number you provided along with the frequency of calls to your line. As we’ve found the incidence of calls from this number to be quite low, we cannot categorize it as a nuisance call. Consequently, we are unable to implement any blocks on this number. In order for a call to be deemed a nuisance and warrant a block, it must adhere to specific criteria. We primarily assess the volume of calls received on your caller line identification. Should we identify ten or more calls from the same number within a week, we might consider it for blocking. However, we must also evaluate the type of call since the blocks we enforce apply at the network level; personal numbers cannot be blocked. This policy is in place because blocking a number would restrict it from reaching our entire clientele, consequently preventing the owner of that number from contacting their own TalkTalk relatives. Moreover, we are unable to bar calls from financial institutions or debt collection firms, as per the terms and conditions you accepted with your bank, which includes the possibility of receiving occasional calls. Debt collection agencies have a right to reach out to individuals regarding outstanding debts, but if they are being aggressive, they can be reported to the Financial Ombudsman, as they are obligated to follow strict guidelines. We cannot block calls from our own call centres. Should you wish to opt out from marketing calls, you may modify your marketing preferences in the “My Account” section on our website. We do provide a feature known as last number barring, which permits you to block up to ten individual numbers. This service incurs a fee of £3.25 per month, and you can set it up through the My Account section on our main website.

I receive calls a couple of times each week from these muppets trying to sell me everything from a new boiler to solar panels and even loft insulation. I've registered with the TPS, but it seems utterly pointless. I've taken the liberty of reporting the number to Ofcom and the ICO. As for my own approach to handling these nuisances, let's just say it might not entirely fall within the law!

1. When you pick up the phone, say something like, "Good day, this is Jeff from Trading Standards. How may I assist you with your grievance?" They might just take your number off their list. 2. Consider listing their phone numbers on complimentary dating platforms, posing as a young woman in search of potential suitors. 3. When you get a call, simply remain silent and place the phone next to the telly. If you leave them hanging for several minutes, it’ll waste their time and resources, prompting them to remove you from their contacts.

For weeks now, we've been tormented by an incessant recorded message that starts with "Dear Customer...." It's become a daily annoyance, with some days bringing multiple calls. It feels like the TPS is utterly ineffective against these persistent callers. Does anyone know how we might finally put a stop to this hassle?

I keep getting these annoying calls about my boiler, it’s so frustrating! Don’t know how they got my number but it’s nonstop. Wish they’d just stop ringing me all the time!

Just received a message beginning with "Good day, we've been attempting to reach you..." It's the same spiel from various numbers, including some dodgy international ones. They keep calling once or twice daily, and it’s getting right on my nerves. Clearly a scam, as there’s no chance I qualify for a free boiler!

It's quite frustrating when my voicemail is filled with blank messages. I take the time to check them, only to discover it's yet another spammer! Such a waste of time, really.

I've been receiving calls from this number on a daily basis. As a charity shop, we're not in the market for a new boiler, we lack the space for solar panels, and wall insulation isn’t something we require either. Not that we’d ever fall for their dodgy tactics! Something needs to be done to put an end to this nonsense.

We’re on the ex-directory list and registered with TPS, yet they still managed to leave a message on my voicemail and their incessant calls just won't stop. Below is the timeline of their disruptions so far:

28th May at 6:41pm
28th May at 7:27pm
29th May at 7:00pm
4th June at 3:42pm

9th June at 5:43pm

It seems that attempts to reach this number are falling flat because, despite its UK appearance, it’s actually originating from overseas. I’ve got BT caller ID activated, and every time it rings, it displays the number alongside the term INTERNATIONAL. Clearly, this UK number has been compromised in some way.

I keep getting calls from this number nearly every day, and recently they’ve started ringing my mobile too. While I was on holiday in Turkey, they called me three times, and it cost me 30p each time just to answer for three seconds. Usually, I wouldn’t pick up a call that comes up as private, but I was waiting for an important call from my airline, which always shows as 'unknown caller.' It’s quite frustrating, isn’t it? What’s one meant to do in such situations?

This phone number is absolutely driving me up the wall, ringing me at least twice a day, even on weekends! I've already reached out to my local telecom provider, KC Hull, for assistance. Unfortunately, all they can offer me at the moment is a call blocker, which is currently out of stock. They've quoted me a one-off fee of £45, and I intend to purchase it as soon as it becomes available. What really gets my goat is that they don't hesitate to call my 95-year-old mother at all hours. Honestly, I’d love nothing more than to confront them face to face. If anyone knows where they're based, I'd be more than willing to pay them a visit. I can’t imagine that anyone genuinely expresses interest in their so-called boiler offerings!

In response to the chatter regarding the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and their effectiveness against these pesky calls, here's a snippet from their official site: "TPS is primarily concerned with unsolicited live marketing phone calls. A call fits within TPS guidelines if it’s an unsolicited conversation about selling or promoting a service or product in real-time over the phone." What stands out here is the term "live". Given that these calls originate from automated systems, they fall outside of TPS's jurisdiction. As if that’s not frustrating enough for those of us plagued by this nuisance, I reached out to my provider, Virgin Media, for some assistance. They informed me that their options for blocking such calls are quite limited-essentially you can only change your number. But honestly, even that seems futile as the callers will likely get through again eventually. I’m open to any suggestions or tips that could help alleviate this headache!

It's quite astonishing, really, how they flout the regulations by ringing up a number that’s already signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, and then have the audacity to think we should regard them as legitimate. How brazen can one be?

I’m utterly exasperated with the relentless calls coming from this number. It’s particularly frustrating considering we forked out for a new boiler a mere three months back!

I receive about three to four calls every single day from this number, and now when they ring, it appears as 'unavailable.' However, the call goes straight to my voicemail, which subsequently shows this number as the last to call. I've taken to ignoring my landline completely; my family has to leave a message, and I return their calls whenever my voicemail is not overwhelmed. Whenever I'm out, I have to contact home using my mobile, as my kids won’t answer the landline anymore. It's absolutely bonkers, and this has been dragging on for months. Other than ditching my landline altogether, I'm at a loss for what to do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Once again, I’ve received a call from this pesky number. Being a shift worker, I typically keep my phone on silent, but today, in a moment of forgetfulness, I actually picked up. When prompted, I pressed 2, and to my surprise, Jessica seemed to find it rather amusing when I kindly, and I do mean kindly, asked her to remove my number from her database. If there’s a next time, I won't be so civil about it!

I frequently receive calls from this number, even though I've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service and various other call-blocking options. It's particularly frustrating that I can't seem to answer calls from those who choose to withhold their number either. Just to add, I'm with Virgin for my home line. It's infuriating not to have someone to vent my irritation at since there's no one on the other side to berate! 😊

I find these incessant automated calls incredibly irritating! The most recent one claimed that every household is legally required to undergo an energy audit by 2016, and insisted I press 2 immediately to comply. Frankly, it feels rather like a veiled threat and definitely warrants a thorough investigation by the authorities.

I’ve had to pause my decorating not once, but twice in the span of an hour due to these charlatans ringing me up. Honestly, how do these dodgy outfits manage to stay afloat? It’s baffling! All this talk about government legislation - “2016 this” and “free boilers that” - total nonsense if you ask me! Isn’t it high time that the authorities took a stand against these pesky callers? It can’t be that difficult to hunt them down and hit them where it hurts financially, can it?

I recently received a rather intrusive recorded message from this number, droning on about free boilers funded by the government. It then prompted me to press '2', which, of course, I politely declined to do. At least this lot haven't obscured their number, which is a tad more bearable than the incessant silent calls I seem to get two or three times daily, likely automated. To be frank, I’m toying with the idea of ditching my landline altogether as it sits there mostly unused, only answered when I'm actually waiting on someone to ring.

Yet another nuisance caller has been bombarding me with their pre-recorded spiel about the opportunity to snag a brand-new boiler.

I find myself in the same boat as countless others-receiving persistent phone calls from this number, as indicated by the 1471 service. The frequency appears to be on the uptrend, with three calls already logged today alone. My answering machine used to intercept these calls, but it’s curious that the spike in frequency might correlate with the fact that I actually picked up the phone the other day. On my most recent attempt, I pressed 2 in hopes of raising my concerns directly about the incessant calls, but to my dismay, the line went silent! What a nuisance!

I've been bombarded with calls from this number, often getting three or four every day, all trying to peddle boilers and solar panels. I just let them leave their messages on the voicemail and then clear them out regularly. It's becoming increasingly frustrating, and it feels like there's no escape from this relentless nuisance. Despite being signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, I can't help but wonder where they are during all this chaos!

For the past few weeks, we’ve been getting daily calls from this number, sometimes two or three times a day, all pushing for a complimentary boiler replacement. My wife once engaged with someone from the company, requesting them to cease their incessant calling, but they simply hung up on her. Yet, the calls keep on coming!

I received a trio of calls within a mere quarter of an hour today. Each one featured a pre-recorded message claiming I was eligible for a complimentary boiler. All they asked me to do was hit button 2 to have a chat with some advisor. I can't help but ponder what sort of charges might be lurking behind that call!

I’m now receiving around four to five of these pesky calls every single day. I’ve decided it’s time to ditch my landline completely. Sky is charging me just to block them, and the Telephone Preference Service seems rather unbothered. Surely, there has to be a way to put an end to this nonsense!

Is there really no solution to halt these incessant calls? Given the advancements in technology nowadays, surely British Telecom ought to be able to take some action. It’s becoming an absolute nightmare-sometimes I get three or even four of these nuisance calls daily, at all sorts of odd hours! It's quite frankly out of hand.

I've been receiving incessant calls from this number regarding boiler services. I've attempted to return the call, but it's an unreachable number. This has persisted for the last four months! Despite being ex-directory and having registered with the Telephone Preference Service, it appears to have no impact whatsoever. Clearly, they've managed to obtain my number from some source or another.

I've been getting frequent calls from this number, and the messages are usually identical each time. I can't fathom how they acquired my number since I take great care to keep it private. At this point, it's undeniably bordering on harassment, and there's a chance the calls could be linked to something nefarious. It’s high time that the relevant authorities stop shifting responsibility and actually involve the police to tackle this issue.

They’re just like all the others - calling at all hours and often multiple times a day. I’ve signed up for the TPS too, yet these pesky calls still manage to sneak through and clutter up my voicemail. Honestly, I've reached a point where I’ve given up answering my landline altogether!

I receive calls from them up to ten times daily, without fail. Even though I’m registered with TPS, it seems they bypass the rules regarding automated calls like this. I've taken action by signing the e-petition and reporting them to the ICO-I'd highly recommend others do the same! Honestly, it’s absolutely infuriating!

I've been receiving a consistent barrage of calls from this number for the last six weeks or so. Each time, it’s the same pre-recorded spiel about a boiler. Honestly, I’m quite fed up with it. When I attempt to return the call, it just disconnects straight away. Clearly, this is a prime example of nuisance calling. I'm signed up with the TPS scheme, yet it seems utterly ineffective against this number. Is there any chance something could actually be done about this?

I'm constantly receiving calls from this number. The other day, I kindly requested that they refrain from calling me again, only for the operator to hang up on me! Is there really no way to put an end to these incessant interruptions? It's truly wearing me down with the constant ringing. I've even taken measures by being ex-directory. What options do I have to tackle this issue?

I've received a second call from this number within just two days, so I decided to stick around and hear what they had to say. It turned out to be yet another sales pitch about government programmes for solar panels and insulation. The automated voice on the line prompted me to "Press 2" if I was interested, reassuring me it was a complimentary call. Naturally, I pressed on and was connected with an “advisor” who appeared utterly unprepared when I told him to cease all calls to my number. I made it clear that he needed to remove my number from his list, referencing the Telephone Preference Service and illuminating the illegality of such a call before I hung up. It was quite gratifying! Even more fulfilling would be if this bothersome number truly ceases to contact me! I suppose only time will tell.

ALERT!!! Just had a call from this number, and it was absolutely silent - it kept the line engaged for a whopping 20 minutes! I was in the midst of submitting my report when they rang me again! If any of you have faced similar frustrations, I genuinely feel your pain, but let’s get real; sympathy doesn't really cut it, does it? It’s merely a word nestled between something unpleasant and an infection in the dictionary! Apologies for my bluntness, but mere sympathy isn't a remedy! Let’s channel our energy into something constructive! Report this to the ICO! It’s as straightforward as jotting down a message here. If they gather enough complaints, there’s a strong chance they’ll take action, and I reckon this number is quite near the top of their priority list!

I've been inundated with calls from these absolute plonkers, and despite raising my concerns with Virgin, my service provider, they’ve been utterly useless in curtailing these nuisances. But at long last, I've discovered a solution: a silent call blocker. If you fancy giving it a whirl, just dial 0870 4443969 to register your number. It's a complimentary service, though bear in mind that calls are charged at the 0870 rate (whatever that ends up being). Since I registered my number last week, I haven’t had a single automated call, especially not from 01613 217891. The silent call extended for a frustrating 20 minutes, during which I was unable to make outgoing calls, resulting in lost business opportunities. It's completely maddening!!

I share everyone’s frustration wholeheartedly, and I must say, this whole "silent call & keeping the line occupied" scenario is absolutely unnerving and could indeed pose a serious risk to life. My mother, who is 87, depends on a care alarm linked to our landline. The thought of something going awry is genuinely terrifying. I took a call from this number and quickly realised it was a scam, but I found myself stuck on the line for an excruciating 20 minutes, unable to hang up or use the 1471 service. When I tried to call the number back, a recorded message informed me it was non-existent! While blocking or rejecting calls might seem like a short-term fix, one would hope that tracing the origin of these calls would lead to an identifiable account holder who could be held accountable and potentially face prosecution. It’s utterly outrageous that we have to endure this sort of nonsense from these despicable individuals!

After coming across another user’s post, I took the step of reporting this number to the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office). I’d never heard of them prior, but they appear to be an independent entity established to safeguard our rights concerning such annoyances. (Regrettably, their website didn’t allow for a proper rant about the incessant barrage of calls from these pesky individuals, which is now verging on harassment within my own home). Nonetheless, if we all raise our voices, they might gather enough instances to take action against them. My number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, yet they clearly couldn’t care less. In the past, I've pressed '2' to chat with an adviser, asking them to take my number off their list... unsurprisingly, they just agree and cut the line.

I receive calls from this number three times every weekday without fail. Despite my requests for them to cease contacting me, they continue to ignore my pleas. It’s worth mentioning that my property doesn’t even have gas for a boiler, and I’ve made this abundantly clear, yet they persist with these irritating calls. I’m absolutely at my breaking point. I’ve resorted to ignoring my phone entirely, which renders it nearly useless, yet I’m still on the hook for the bill. It’s immensely frustrating!

We’ve been getting numerous calls from this number on our home phone each week. Unfortunately, since we’re out during the day, it just goes to the answering machine. It’s becoming a bit of a bother now, especially since it’s been happening for months on end. The answering machine only manages to pick up part of the message, which is even more frustrating.
