some guy named scott rang me and started spouting numbers like 89560hm 892241852 248/1965. when i asked which tax year he was on about, he hung up sharpish. total scam this, dont fall for it! if there was a real tax problem hmrc would send a letter, not ring you out of the blue.

I got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be an HMRC investigator called Sam Watson, badge number 89560hm, saying I was involved in tax evasion. After I paid, the same person rang me again from these numbers: +44 02079476879, +44 02079476139, and a WhatsApp number +44 7487447394. Fingers crossed the police catch these fraudsters soon. I just hope others see this warning in time so they don’t fall for the same scam.
