A bloke who said his name was 'Jaahn' had the nerve to identify himself on our call blocker. I just let it ring through to voicemail and he ended up hanging up!

A guy with an Asian accent called, saying his name was Kevin. He jumped straight in telling me I could get my home appliance insurance cheaper with one of their other plans. I got annoyed quick and before I could say more, he just hung up on me.

I've had a couple of calls from this number recently, and each time my answering machine politely asks them to leave a message. Yet, bizarrely, they never seem to oblige. So, when they fail to say anything, I make a note of their number and decide to disregard it altogether in the future. However, as they say, curiosity can be quite the troublemaker! It's a bit unsettling and rather bothersome, especially when you're anticipating a call from someone important.

Got a call from some bloke called Ken saying my insurance had been moved over to his company and that it’d come cheaper, just like others have mentioned on here. I told him I haven’t even got any cover, so I'm guessing it's a dodgy scam trying to fish for my bank details or something. How on earth did he get hold of my name and number though? I’m supposed to be ex directory!

Got a call from some guy claiming to be from Homemend, trying to convince me to lower the cost on my kitchen gear insurance. He mentioned sending an engineer over, but I had no clue why. I told him we don’t have any insurance policy with them, apologised, and ended the call. How on earth did he find my number and name when we're listed ex-directory? Feels like a scam to me, probably fishing for bank details or something!

Got a call from homemend too, similar story. They told me they could lower my premium if I switched to their comprehensive cover and gave me a number to call for an engineer visit. Got a call from someone claiming to be from "home," an appliance insurance company saying my kitchen gear was now insured through them. But that’s not right - we have coverage with Domestic & General. The bloke wanted to send an engineer round, which made me suspicious as none of my appliances are faulty. When I asked why, he offered a number to call if anything broke down. I told him I’d ring D & G if I had any issues, not them! Pretty sure it was a scam, so I just blocked the number.

Received a call from a Manchester number, the chap on the line had a bit of an American twang. He mentioned he was ringing on behalf of some family-run carpet cleaning service in Bath. Gave an address-A 367 St. James Parade-but that doesn’t ring a bell as I can’t imagine there being that many doors down that street. Offered to clean three carpets at a ridiculously low price. Sounds a bit dodgy, doesn’t it? I’ve encountered this sort of thing previously...
