i got a call from some bloke claiming to be from an internet security firm called panda. i told him straight away that i never signed up with them and demanded he erase my info from their system. he just asked why he'd do that. i mentioned gdpr laws and told him he had no right to keep my data without consent. then he started getting a bit cheeky and asked me who i thought i was telling him what to do. that was when i just hung up on him.

Got a call from a bloke who said he worked for some internet security firm. He said the company was shutting down and told me to log onto their site to get a refund from the “refund department.” Thing is, I haven’t used that company in ages and never paid for anything. I told him no thanks on logging in and asked him to send me a cheque instead. Definitely sounds like one of those dodgy scams. Honestly, makes me worried thinking about folks who might actually follow through and give them access to their computer.

This number pretended to be from a real company and ended up tricking my elderly parents who were very vulnerable. I've reported it to the police already. Urgent please check and block this number.

Apparently, since the company is shutting down, they said they'd give me back the £200 I paid for some antivirus software. I admitted I didn’t recall buying it, but they gave me a date for the refund. I said alright, just send a cheque then. I’ll see if it actually comes through, but I’m not too hopeful.

Around a fortnight ago my dad passed away, and shortly after, this antivirus software firm phoned my mum demanding her bank info to send a refund. She immediately said no, which I thought was the right call. I got in touch with them myself and explained they needed a bank account, but I refused to hand over my info. Instead, I offered them to send the money to my PayPal since it's safer. They told me they'd return the call, but I've yet to hear anything from them.
