Got a call claiming to be from Microsoft again. When I called them out and said they were hackers, the bloke actually asked, "If I’m the hacker, why would I be ringing you?" Honestly, don’t waste your time with them at all.

I got a call about some virus on my computer, but I told them to buzz off since I don't even own a PC. Then I asked them to remove me from their list because, legally, they’re supposed to do that.

I received a rather dubious call from some computer tricksters attempting to coax me into granting them remote access to my computer. I strongly advise you to steer clear of these calls. They've cunningly manipulated my landline number to make it appear as if it's coming from my own phone, which is unnerving. This whole saga began after I kept one of their operatives on the line for around ten minutes, only for him to turn nasty once he caught on that I was onto his little scam. Allow me to be clear: I don’t make unsolicited calls to strangers. If you’re not acquainted with me, I recommend you don’t pick up. The phone provider has informed me that my only recourse is to change my number, which seems a bit extreme, doesn’t it?

I received a rather dodgy call which I suspect was from some computer hackers attempting to gain access to my laptop. It's best to disregard such calls. They've cleverly altered their number to appear as if it's coming from my own home line. The trouble began after I managed to keep one of these blokes on the line for nearly ten minutes before he figured out I was onto him and turned quite rude. I generally don’t engage with strangers over the phone. If we’re not acquainted, it’s wise not to answer. Unfortunately, the phone company has informed me that aside from changing my number, there’s little they can do to assist.

This is my home phone got spoofed by some Indian-sounding 'Microsoft' hackers after i played along with them for about 10 minutes. They turned rude real quick tho. Now I'm stuck thinking of changing my number. Be careful and don’t mess about with these callers or you might end up in the same mess.

Just like the other commenter said, this seemed to be one of those typical scam calls from somewhere in Asia. What's odd is that the number apparently belongs to something called the RINGWAY ROUND TABLE NUMBER 857 CHARITY ACCOUNT, based at 55 Framingham Road, Sale, M33 3RH. The weird part is, this account hasn't had any money in or out for quite a while now. Makes me wonder if they've faked the number or if it was just a silly error when registering it.

Got calls from this number pretty early, like at 7:55 am, and when I answer there's no one there. The few times someone does talk, it’s some sketchy bloke pretending to be from Microsoft. Proper annoying!

So, this number rang me up yesterday pretending to be from HMRC. Yeah, right!!! HMRC are always sending you tons of letters full of confusing stuff - no chance they’d sort anything out just by calling you. Total scam alert right there!!!

Had a call from some bloke claiming to be David from Microsoft, sounded of Asian origin. Obviously a total scam, just trying to catch me out. Stay well clear of these dodgy calls!

Got a call from 01612868840 saying they were from Microsoft. Told me hackers had taken over my PC and they wanted to fix it. The usual stuff about typing in "event viewer" and all that tech-y nonsense. They ring me at least twice every day now, so I’ve started playing along, pretending not to understand and asking them to explain everything again and again. It’s like a game to see how long I can keep them chatting before they hang up - managed a whopping 18 minutes today! Feels like I won or something!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, acting really pushy about supposedly blocking my computer. I joked back asking which one since I've got about ten. He caught on to the joke but kept going anyway. Then I told him I was recording the call and suddenly he went quiet.

Got a call from someone named Spencer Reid claiming to be from HMRC. They had loads of my details like my NI number and said they were about to start legal proceedings to get money back. After that, I got calls from 9186583148 and then 0300 200 311, both doing the same scam. Sounded pretty believable at the start but turned aggressive and scary quickly. I just ended the call.

So, first this bloke called himself Kelvin Jackson from that 01612868840 number - total muppet. Then, just a few hours later, another tosser rings up, goes by Alan Smith - honestly, couldn’t stop laughing at that one. These lot are proper con artists, aren’t they? Can’t BT do something to block these scammers already? It’s so annoying!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft about fixing my internet and some hackers. I told him I’d sort it out on my own by just cutting off the internet. Problem gone, no thank you to that cheeky scammer! Bye bye to Mr Fraudster.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft tech support about my computer security. Seemed a bit off right away, asking for remote access and personal info. Pretty sure it was a scam trying to get into my system. Definitely watch out for fake cyber security alerts like that - Microsoft wouldn’t call you out of the blue like that.

I picked up but there was no one on the other end. Usually, that kind of silence means it’s some sort of scam.

Just a heads up about the number 01612868840 - avoid it if you can! They claim they’ll sort out your computer but then grab control and hit you with a fee just to get it back. On top of that, they try to sneak in some rubbish malware. Definitely not trustworthy!

No one said a word, so I just stayed quiet as well, then suddenly they ended the call. From what I've seen looking up this number before, it's probably one of those classic Microsoft scams.
